Pacquiao still wants to win
Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach will be back in Manila next month to personally oversee the preparation of eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao for the July 2 fight with Jeff Horn in Brisbane, Australia.
“I’ll be out in the Philippines for about six weeks and then in Australia for the last ten days,” Roach stated.
Pacquiao will defend his WBO welterweight crown.Roach said Pacquiao has enough motivation in dealing with Horn.
“Manny is motivated for everybody, he doesn’t take anyone lightly and Horn’s won his last few fights by knockout and he’s supposed to be getting better and a big puncher But I did see one tape on him so far and he’s a little bit wild but he does have a little bit of power,” Roach commented.
The veteran trainer also believed that the 38-year-old Pacquiao still has what it takes to demolish Horn in their 12-round match.
“But I think he’s going to have a tough time with Pacquiao,” Roach says of Horn. “And Manny still does have his speed. He’s not near done, yet.”
Pacquiao last fought last November at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, beating Jessie Vargas to capture the WBO belt. (Axel Roman)
