Paul Desiderio finally finds his groove
Better late than never for Paul Desiderio.
Averaging only 12 points on 20 percent shooting from beyond the arc, the UP swingman finally exploded with career-high 31 points on 7-of-9 shooting.
Most importantly, his performance helped UP pick-apart FEU, 95-82, on Wednesday.
“Unang-una, lagi kong iniisip na binigyan ako ni coach Bo ng chance na maglaro sa UP at lahat ng kumpyansa, binigay niya sa akin,” said the fifth-year player.
“Naisip ko na kailangan ko nang mag-step up, gusto kong mabigyan si coach Bo at ang UP community ng magandang ending,” he added.
Now owning a 5-5 record, UP head coach Bo Perasol was just glad that Desiderio showed up at the right time.
“I’m waiting for that time that Paul is going to find his groove again. He had been working hard, not only in the game but in the practices as well,” said Perasol.
Desiderio only hopes that he sustains his rhythm because his scoring will be needed the most, in order to boost their playoff bid.
Every day, nag-shooting ako, nage-extra work, pero ganun talaga eh, matagal makuha pero ngayon okay na. Hopefully, ngayon, nakuha ko na,” Desiderio explained.
