A three-team trade involving Converge FiberXers, Phoenix Fuel Masters, and NorthPort Batang Pier has been approved by the PBA Commissioner’s Office after several days of negotiations.
In the finalized deal, Converge acquired the playing rights of Larry Muyang, Phoenix picked up Evan Nelle, while NorthPort secured Jeo Ambohot.
“Ok na ’yung trade ng Converge, Phoenix, at NorthPort,” Commissioner Willie Marcial told Fastbreak in a Viber message on Thursday night.
Marcial added the transaction was made possible after the PBA Board lifted the ban on Muyang, who had been suspended for suiting up with the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in the MPBL despite being under contract with Phoenix.
“Lifted na ’yung ban (ni Muyang), aprubado na ng PBA Board,” Marcial said.
Meanwhile, Fastbreak learned that Converge and Phoenix remain in talks over a separate deal involving the Fuel Masters’ No. 2 overall pick in Sunday’s PBA Rookie Draft. Initial details point to Converge offering Bryan Santos and its No. 8 pick in exchange for the second selection.
