PBA cancels All Star Game; 3×3 tourney on hold
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has decided to cancel much-anticipated 2020 All-Star Games, as well as the inaugural 3×3 tournament due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The supposed All-Star Game was supposed to take place at Passi, Iloilo ngayong this July.
“Sigurado ‘yun, postponed muna kasi one conference na lang tayo,” Marcial admitted.
“As of now, cancelled ang All-Star, ire-resume ulit natin by next year.”
Meanwhile, the 14-team 3×3 tournament that was supposed to run in the middle of the 2020 Philippine Cup won’t occur for now
All 12 PBA franchises, along with Mighty Bond and Dunkin Donuts, were set to compete in the newly-formed tournament.
Right now, the 3×3 is, siyempre, on hold,” said PBA deputy commissioner Eric Castro.
“We’re supposed to start it this Philippine Cup, but for now… probably for the next season, we’ll see kung kailan natin mare-restart ‘yung 3×3.”
Still, the PBA is eyeing to resume the All-Filipino Cup this year.
