PBA suspends all practices until all further notice
The Philippine Basketball Association has extended the break it imposed on all teams regarding practices and other league-related activities due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) situation.
“In light of the country’s current situation, the Office of the Commissioner is extending all its member teams’ two-week break from practices, scrimmages, and other related activities… until further notice,” Commissioner Willie Marcial said in a memorandum on Monday.
A few days after he postponed the Philippine Cup, Marcial imposed the break from training, which was initially scheduled to end on Friday.
But with Luzon under an enhanced community quarantine, the commissioner opted to stretch the break until the Covid-19 pandemic eases.
“We ask your full cooperation and compliance and encourage everyone to stay fit and healthy in the confines and safety of their homes,”Marcial added.
The league only played one single game so far in the season-opening conference, the San Miguel-Magnolia match, before postponing play indefinitely. (PNA)
