PBA teams will begin to hold practices in Batangas City, as they hope to start the Season 46 as soon as possible this year.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed the reports following his meeting with Batangas City mayor Beverley Dimacuha and Batangas Fifth District Rep. Marvey Mariño on Saturday.

“Ok naman sila na mag-practice doon at baka pumunta ako dun sa Friday kasama ng team ko para mapagusapan mga protocols, disinfection at papaano ang pag-cordon off ng mga tao,” Marcial said.

While the NCR Plus remains at modified enhanced community quarantine, Batangas is under general community quarantine (GCQ).

Under GCQ, only practices in small groups are allowed under the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Marcial said that Batangas City Coliseum and Batangas State University Gym will be the two official venues for the practices.

“Hindi ko pa lang ma-ano dahil may mga bigas pa yung mga gym so tatanggalin nila so hopefully by next week maayos na,” Marcial said.

Marcial has also coordinated with Games and Amusements Board (GAB) chairman Baham Mitra on the resumption of training.

“Kausap ko din si Chairman Mitra at all-out support naman siya pero depende pa nga kung ano ang level sa Batangas,” he added.
