Pelicans to accommodate more fans in New Orleans arena after COVID-19 cases drop

The New Orleans Pelicans will begin to accommodate2,700 audiences Wednesday when they host the Detroit Pistons in Smoothie King Center.

The recent proposal of increasing attendance at the arena came after a noticeable decrease of COVID-19 cases in the New Orleans area.

Still, fans are required to wear masks all the time, while social distancing still must be observed from people who are not in their group.

The 18,000 seat capacity of Smoothie King Center has allowed at least 1,000 fans inside this season.
