Perez, Newsome teaming up for Sea Games 3×3 as Romeo gets cut
Terrence Romeo, one of the most decorated 3×3 players, will not be part of Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas has announced that CJ Perez, Mo Tautuaa, Chris Newsome, and Jason Perkins will be the quartet composing the national team for the regional meet which the Philippines will host from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11.
Other players cut were Chris Banchero, Ian Sangalang, Baser Amer, Mac Belo, Anthony Semerad, and Raymond Almazan. Robert Bolick was also part of the pool, but suffered an ACL tear last month.
3×3 will be making its debut in the SEA Games this year. It will take place at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia are likely the biggest threats to the host in the two-day tourney.
