Perez outperforms former LPU teammate Ayaay

Together, CJ Perez and MJ Ayaay paraded the Lyceum of the Philippines University in the NCAA for 3 successful years.
However, on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena, the former college teammates faved each other for the first time in the pro-ranks as their respective teams collide in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Columbian Dyip’s prized rookie Perez had 15 points and 5 rebounds while Ayaay had only 8 markers and 4 boards for the Alaska Aces.
The win, however, belonged to Ayaay as the Aces bank on the heroics of Carl Bryan Cruz and Jake Pascual.
And even though his brother got the better of him, Ayaay said he’s only glad to bring home the mark on the win column.
“’Di ko naman iniisip (yung bantayan namin). Gusto ko lang manalo and matulungan yung Alaska,” he said.
Perez, on the other hand, said that he’s happy that they have finally realized their dream of playing in the PBA, even though they now find themselves on opposite sides of the court.
“So happy for him, so happy for us. As a brother, siyempre, makikita mo yung kapatid mo na naglalaro, sobrang saya,” he said.
