Perkins, Teng set to sign near max deals

Two former La Salle standouts are set to sign near-maximum contracts with their new teams.

Jason Perkins and Jeron Teng, who were selected fourth and fifth overall by Phoenix Fuel Masters and Alaska Aces, will be offered packages befitting their stature and potential.

According to Alaska team manager Dickie Bachmann, Teng will be given near the maximum salary allowed for a rookie in the PBA.

Teng is expected to team up with Calvin Abueva to man the wings for the Aces. On the other hand, lefty-forward Perkins will receive near the P150,000 per month maximum ceiling for rookies during his first year with the Fuel Masters.

Phoenix team representative Raymund Zorilla, added “Perkins will be very happy” with the deal.

Teng and Perkins led the De La Salle Green Archers to 2016 UAAP men’s basketball championship where they formed a formidable partnership in the hardcourt.
