Perlas Spikers takes a leave from PVL 2022

Perlas Spikers is set to take a leave of absence from the upcoming 2022 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season.

Citing the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic situation, Perlas announced on Tuesday night their decision.

“We regret to inform everyone that with the ongoing pandemic, the Perlas management has decided to take a leave of absence in the upcoming PVL tournament,” Perlas said.

Perlas Spikers, which was owned by former volleybelle Charo Soriano, had three bronze medal finishes in its PVL stint since 2018.

The squad, however, struggled during the 2021 PVL Open Conference bubble after being hit with COVID-19 and winning only one of nine games.
