The Philippines set the new FIBA record for the most attended World Cup of Basketball game during the Gilas Pilipinas versus Dominican Republic match on Friday.
According to FIBA, 38,115 spectators attended the game at the Philippine Arena.
The previous FIBA record for the most attended game was 32,616 during the USβ finals game vs. Russia in the 1994 FIBA World Cup finals.
But the Philippine Arena holds a PBA spectator record of 54,589, which was during Game 7 of the 2022β23 PBA Commissioner’s Cup between Barangay Ginebra and the Bay Area Dragons.
