The Azkals, hoping to ride the momentum of their fine show against South Korea, got ambushed instead by a very patient and superior opponents.
Wu opened the scoring for the highly-favored Chinese side when he slotted the ball of a difficult angle that caught Azkals’ keeper Michael Falkesgaard in the 39th minute.
The Chinese ended the first half barely clinging to a one goal lead.
In the 65th minute, Wu got his brace in the game off a free kick to double China’s lead.
Substitute Yu Da Bao made it a 3-0 game after latching on the ball inside on top of the box. The striker was barely on the game when he delivered China’s third goal in the 79th minute.
The Philippines will face Kyrgyzstan on January 16 at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai.
