Philippines dethrones Thailand in men’s volleyball
The Philippine men’s national volleyball team dethroned five-peat seeking Thailand men’s national volleyball team, 17-25, 25-20, 23-25, 27-25, 17-15, in the ongoing 2019 Southeast Asian Games in Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
After an extended fifth set, Rex Intal scored a block point over Thailand, 16-15. Bryan Bagunas finished the match with a down the line hit from a broken play, 17-15, to defeat Thailand.
In the fourth set, Philippines was down 24-21 until Bagunas sparked a 6-1 rally to extend the match into the fifth and deciding set, 27-25.
The Philippines will face Indonesia for the gold medal match in December 10, at the same venue.
