Phoenix Suns Rallies Past Denver For 1-0 West Semis Edge
Phoenix Suns used a strong second half push to defeat Denver Nuggets, 122-105, in Game 1 of their NBA Western Conference semifinals series on Monday at the Phoenix Suns Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.
Down 70-60 midway in the third quarter, the Suns leaned on conversions by Mikal Bridges and DeAndre Ayton to take a 74-73 lead before widening it to 88-79 heading into the fourth.
Phoenix went for the kill in the fourth period with Chris Paul converting consecutive hits as the lead reached its largest at 114-97 following a three-pointer by Jae Crowder.
Bridges finished the match with 23 points, Paul and Devin Booker each had 21 markers, while Ayton had double-double 20 points and 10 rebounds for Phoenix.
Nikola Jokić tallied 22 points and nine rebounds, while Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. added 18 and 15 markers, respectively, for the Nuggets.
