Pinag-aral pati kapatid! Find out how Ateneo recruited Ryan Buenafe

Several schools were salivating on Ryan Buenafe back when he led San Sebastian Golden Staglets to a multiple NCAA juniors’ championship, but he ultimately ended up with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

In an exclusive interview with Mikee Reyes on his WRU Now? vlog, the former PBA player revealed that Ateneo was already recruiting him since high school, and as soon as he gave his commitment, he received some good amount of cash.

Not only that, Ateneo also gave Buenafe’s brother a scholarship in their university and the whole family was also given a condo unit.

Buenafe would have a great UAAP career, winning four championships and a Finals MVP in 2010.

Although Ryan did not last in the PBA unlike his older brother Ronjay, the younger Buenafe has no regrets on his basketball journey, and he is just happy on where he is right now.
