Former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson has offered friendly advice to the teams participating in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup while playing in the Philippines.
In a tweet on Wednesday morning, Lacson advised teams to steer clear of EDSA when heading to the game venue, cautioning that heavy traffic might result in a default loss for them.
“A friendly advice to the FIBA World Cup participating teams: don’t take EDSA. You will lose the game by default,” Lacson wrote on his X account.

Numerous teams, including Gilas Pilipinas and their groupmates Angola, Italy, and the Dominican Republic, are scheduled to compete in their group stage matches at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The groups of Serbia, China, Puerto Rico, and South Sudan are also slated to compete in the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
EDSA’s persistent traffic congestion has posed a challenge for many years, and despite the implementation of various regulations by the MMDA, a viable solution has yet to be identified.
