Pinirata! NU Bullpups Tamayo, Abadiano transfer to UP
The UP Fighting Maroons just gained two prized prospects out of NU-Nazareth Bullpups Carl Tamayo and Gerry Abadiano.
Tamayo is a 6-foot-7 big man who was listed as the second-best high school prospect in the NBTC Final 24, while the 5-11 Abadiano was ranked at the 16th spot.
“Carl and Gerry will be a big part of our rebuilding efforts,” said the UP team manager Atty. Agaton Uvero.
“These two talents will help us secure our basketball future. We hope they will be model student-athletes of UP.”
Tamayo and Abadiano were instrumental pieces for the Bullpups in their back-to-back UAAP titles.
The duo also played for Batang Gilas for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in Greece.
Meanwhile UP recently secured blue-chip prospects like Xavier School ace Miguel Tan, Fil-Canadians Alonso Tan and Anton Eusebio, Fil-Australian center Ethan Kirkness, Fil-Am guard Sam Dowd, and Gilas Youth’s RC Calimag.
