FILIPINO bare-knuckle fighter Rolando “Dy Incredible” Dy will return to the international stage on October 10 when he defends his BKB super welterweight belt against Scott “The Mute” McHugh at Utilita Arena in Newcastle, England.
Dy, who holds a 6-1 record with five knockouts, earned his title defense after stopping former two-division boxing world champion Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi in the second round.
His next opponent, McHugh, enters the BKB60 main event with a 16-5 record with six knockouts. The Leeds native is also on a five-fight winning streak and will seek to capture his sixth BKB world championship in front of his home crowd.
The upcoming bout gives Dy another opportunity to strengthen his position in the bare-knuckle scene while defending the championship he currently holds.
Before flying to the United Kingdom, Dy will appear at a press conference on September 17 at Discovery Suites Manila in Ortigas Center.
The event will focus on his preparations for McHugh, his rise as a world champion, and his plans for the next phase of his career. It will also formally introduce the partnership between Dy and PenOne Combat.
PenOne Combat, the combat sports division of PenOne Digital Corporation, aims to create commercial, sponsorship, marketing, and media opportunities for Filipino fighters competing locally and abroad. (Adrian Co)
