Pinoy spikers start SEA Games campaign by trouncing Cambodia
The Philippine men’s national volleyball team shutdown a spirited Cambodia squad, 29-27, 25-17, 25-17, to kick off its 2019 SEA Games campaign on a high note on Monday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Marck Espejo and Bryan Bagunas led the nationals’ offensive thrust with young setter Joshua Retamar showing brilliance with his blocking and clutch plays.
Espejo finished with 21 points off 16 kills, four aces, and a block while Bagunas had 14 points.
The Philippines’ next assignment in Pool B is 2017 SEA Games bronze medalist Vietnam on Wednesday at 6 pm.
