PLDT High Speed Hitters outside spiker Jovielyn Prado is set to be sidelined for the rest of the 2023 Premier Volleyball League season due to a knee injury.
In a statement on Tuesday night, the High Speed Hitters confirmed that Prado has sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury after a bad fall during a PLDT game a week ago.
“After an MRI scan and a check-up with a doctor, it was confirmed to Jovy Prado and the PLDT High Speed Hitters team and management that she suffered an ACL tear,” PLDT said in a statement.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sent their well wishes! We hope you continue to pray for her as she goes through the path to recovery on her way back to the PVL court,” it added.
In the lengthy absence of Prado, the High Speed Hitters will now rely on Royse Tubino, Fiola Ceballos, and Jules Samonte in the open hitter position.
