Portland Acquires Kanter in Three-Team Trade

Portland Trailblazers have acquired center Enes Kanter in a three-team trade on Friday (Saturday in the Philippines) that also involved his former team Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Kanter was traded to the Trailblazers, while the Grizzlies got Mario Hezonja from the Trailblazers and rookie Desmond Bane from the Celtics.

Boston, on the other hand, will acquire Memphis’ 2021 first round draft rights.

Kanter is expected to play backup role to Jusuf Nurkic, which was solid in his return to the Trailblazers from injury during the NBA bubble.

The move to acquire Kanter also could mean that Portland may part ways with Hassan Whiteside, which the Trailblazers acquire in a trade with Miami Heat last year.
