Pretty Boy to get KO’d not by McGregor but by IRS
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the overwhelming favorite in his coming fight against MMA champion Connor McGregor next month in Las Vegas.
An interesting development, however, has led many people to believe Mayweather will likely be kayoed not by the two-division titlist but by something else. The beating will also not occur in the ring but outside of it.
Reports say Mayweather petitioned the IRS asking for a reprieve from unpaid taxes from 2015 until after his fight against McGregor on August 26.
Mayweather likewise assured the IRS that he will pay the back taxes he owes.
“The taxpayer has a significant liquidity event scheduled in about 60 days from which intends to pay the balance of the 2015 tax liability due and outstanding,” Mayweather stated.
The undefeated American boxing champion is coming out of a two-year retirement to fight McGregor.
He is expected to earn a nine-figure pay in the match.
Mayweather earned at least $220M in his match against Manny Pacquiao in 2015.
It is not exactly known, however, how much Pretty Boy owes the IRS. But it will surely knock him down after his fight against McGregor.
