Rain or Shine fend off Ginebra, claims 1st win of the conference
The Rain or Shine pull off a shocker against Barangay Ginebra, 104-97, to claim their first win in 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup, on Saturday at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena.
From a 61-57 lead in the third canto, the Elasto Painters sparked a 14-0 rally to avoid any Ginebra comeback.
Although the rally sort of happened in the payoff period, Gabe Norwood buried a triple with 2:23 left to assure their first-ever victory.
Terrence Watson led ROS with 29 points and 19 rebounds. Also, Jewel Ponferada had 18 points while Gabe Norwood was good with 12.
After losing four outings in the season-ending conference, Rain or Shine finally put an end to their struggle with a shocking win.
Elsewhere, Justin Brownlee tallies 23 points, 16 rebounds, and nine assists, while Tenorio added 15 points and six rebounds.
Ginebra dropped at the top of the standings, with a 6-2 win-loss slate.
