The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are set to represent the country in the 42nd William Jones Cup, which is making a return for the first time since the coronavirus disease pandemic of 2019.
In a social media post on Tuesday, the Painters also said that naturalized center Angelo Kouame will serve as their import for the Taiwan-based tournament slated from August 12 to 20.
The Painters, under head coach Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, are currently having a strong showing in the PBA on Tour, where they won six of their eight matches.
The Mighty Sports-Philippines clinched the championship in the tournament in 2019, led by a team consisting of now-PBA players Mikey Williams and Jamie Malonzo, as well as imports Justin Brownlee and Andray Blatche.
