Ravena leaps high for NBA dream

Former UAAP MVP Kiefer Ravena showcased his much-improved vertical leap as he continues to work hard in chasing his NBA dream.

On his instagram account @kieferravena15, the 5-foot-11 “Phenom” posted a clip showing his own version of tomahawk dunk.

Last month, the former King Eagle was listed as “developmental player” by NBA D-League team Texas Legends, the affiliate of Dallas Mavericks.

Ravena is currently attending the squad’s regular trainings and drills in the US without any salary and away from his family.

The two-time UAAP MVP opted to miss this year’s PBA Rookie Draft to pursue his childhood ambition of playing overseas.

Ravena also played for the Reapers in the Drew League, the no.1 Pro-Am tournament in the world. But his team failed to advance in the next round.

Last season, the Legends drafted another Filipino Ray Ray Parks but did not bring him back in the 2016-2017 season. Parks was drafted by the Westchester Knicks in October but was dropped of the lineup days before the opening of the NBA D-League. (Alex Cerado)
