Red Lions roar to 4th straight win; mangle Cardinals

Donald Tankoua registered a double-double performance as defending champion San Beda Red Lions gored the Mapua Cardinals, 66-55 in the 93rd men’s basketball tournament of the NCAA at the Filoil Arena in San Juan.

Tankoua poured 11 points and collared 18 rebounds to pace the Red Lions in nothing their fifth win in six games. San Beda remains half a game behind the unbeaten Lyceum Pirates. The Intramuros-based squad remains perfect with seven straight wins.

Tankou teamed up with Jayvee Mocon and Davon Potts as San Beda blitzed the Cardinals 23-6 in the first quarter.

The Red Lions even erected a 19-point lead, 51-32, at the end of the third quarter.

The Cardinals fell to 1-6 win loss slate.
