Rey Suerte finds luck in upcoming PBA Draft
Rey Suerte’s lone season with the UE Red Warriors has come to an end, and he hopes to find his luck in this upcoming 2019 PBA Draft.
“Siguro aakyat na sa PBA kung papalarin,” said the Cebuano swingman.
The one-and-done standout just proved that he can hang with the UAAP greats, posting an averages of 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.2 steals — even earning himself a Mythical team consideration.
“Grabe ang competition dito, sobrang hirap talaga. Pero na-amaze ako sa sarili ko kasi kaya ko palang makipagsabayan kaya thankful ako,” Suerte explained.
The two-time CESAFI MVP also left the league on his own terms, as he punched in 28 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks in UE’s 79-77 victory over NU on Wednesday.
Although Suerte wished that he coulf extend his time with the Red Warriors, he is thankful to the UE community for welcoming him with open arms.
“Sobrang maraming salamat talaga kasi from our first game to our last game, sinuportahan nila kami. Wala akong regret dito,” he said.
