Vanessa Gandler made some crucial points as the Cignal HD Spikers scored a 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 sweep over the Farm Fresh Foxies in the Premier Volleyball League Invitational on Thursday night at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles star tallied eight points, mostly in the third set, as the HD Spikers kept their semifinal hopes alive while eliminating the Foxies from playoff contention.
“It feels great [to win]. I’m really happy to be here, and I’m glad that I chose to join Cignal. But the fight is not over, and the work continues,” said Gandler.
HD Spikers head coach Ceseal delos Santos also lauded the all-around efforts of Gandler and her teammates but admitted that they must address their concerns about unforced errors.
“Thankful ulit syempre sa panalo and syempre kay Lord sa pag-guide niya sa amin the whole game,” said Delos Santos.
“Hopefully, mas gumanda pa ‘yung performance namin. Marami kaming na-commit na errors pero good thing napanalo namin ‘yung game.”
Currently, the HD Spikers are tied with the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and the Petro Gazz Angels with a 3-1 win-loss slate in Group B.
