RR Pogoy’s absence looms over Gilas’ European training camp

Gilas Pilipinas is likely to miss the services of RR Pogoy in its training camp in Europe as the TNT gunner is still recovering from his injury.

According to a report from Spin.ph, citing a source, Pogoy is still undergoing therapy for his fractured finger. He sustained the injury in Game 3 of TNT’s finals series against Barangay Ginebra in the Governor’s Cup. The injury also sidelined him at the Southeast Asian Games last month.

Gilas is set to leave for Estonia on Thursday.

The national team already lost one player from its 21-man player pool, as Carl Tamayo begged off from Gilas duties due to injury.

Pogoy is gunning for his second straight appearance in the FIBA World Cup. He was a part of the final 12 during Gilas’ campaign in the 2019 edition of the tournament. (MJD)
