Salenga, Dutosme earn first Azkal call ups

Global Cebu FC forward Paolo Salenga and Ceres Negros FC’s Joshua Dutosme join 21 other Azkals as the Philippines renews its bid to gain a spot in the 2019 Asian Cup against Nepal on November 14 in Kathmandu.

The in form Salenga and promising Dutosme will mark their first caps for the national team. Kaya FC Makati midfielder Marwin Angeles marks his return to the Philippine Azkals after a three year absence.

Misagh Bahadoran is also making his comeback with the team after missing the game against Yemen in Doha, Qatar last month due to a shoulder injury.

A win against Nepal will seal a historic first-ever appearance for the Philippines in the Asian Cup.

The Philippine Azkals will leave today for Kathmandu along with coach Thomas Dooley and assistant coach Stefano Marsella.
