San Beda ace Evan Nelle plans on La Salle homecoming
This may be a huge blow for the formidable San Beda Red Lions.
Floor general Evan Nelle might possibly become the recent collegiate star to make an off-season move by leaving Mendiola for La Salle, according to sources from Abante and FastBreak.
San Beda head coach Boyet Fernandez revealed that the second-year athlete has been missing in action in Red Lion’s training for the past few days.
“For now, we still don’t know what Evan’s [Nelle] plan is. He missed the last few practices and have yet to hear from him,” Fernandez said on Abante and FastBreak.
Nelle, who is considered as an up and coming star in collegiate basketball, just came off from a breakout season with NCAA Season 95 averages 10.2 points, 6.7 assists at 4.5 rebounds.
He even finished as bridesmaid in the MVP race, only behind San Beda teammate Calvin Oftana.
If the 21-year old decides to take his talent to Taft, this will be a homecoming of sorts for him — since he also played for La Salle Zobel for a while before switching to San Beda Red Cubs.
Before Nelle, former NU star Dave Ildefonso made headlines when he announced that he is about to return with the Blue Eagles just a week ago.
