Sayang! Valdez, Philippines suffer another heartbreaking loss in AVC


The Philippine women’s national volleyball team cannot sustained their momentum throughout the match, absorbing another five-set loss at the hand of Iran, 27-29, 25-16, 17-25, 25-12, 13-15, in the ongoing 2018 Asian Women’s Volleyball Cup in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

Alyssa Valdez scored two crucial hit to tie the game at 13-apiece in the fifth set. Iran’s captain Borhani Esfhani accepted the gift from Filipinas, scoring a quick two points to steal the match, 15-13.

Valdez led the team, scoring 24 poitns while Mylene Paat contributed 10 markers.

The Pinays also loss a five-set match against Australia, 25-21, 25-21, 24-26, 16-25, 10-15, in their debut last September 16.

Philippines will battle next Kazakhstan to finish pool round competition.
