The reigning PBA Most Valuable Player, Scottie Thompson, made his return to Gilas Pilipinas’ practices with the FIBA World Cup just days away.
Ginebra coach and Gilas deputy mentor Tim Cone confirmed this in a report by ABS-CBN News.
“He’s back to practice. He practiced fully without restrictions last night,” he said.
Thompson missed the team’s training camp in China after suffering a metacarpal injury in his hand during their tour in Europe.
While staying at home, Thompson worked on speeding up his recovery with hopes of rejoining the squad as soon as possible.
Gilas will have two more tuneup games against Montenegro and Mexico next week before taking on the Dominican Republic in the World Cup on Aug. 25 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
