Adamson University standout Shaina Nitura is setting her sights on steering the Lady Falcons to the UAAP women’s volleyball finals following her recent MVP triumph.

According to Nitura, her main goal of winning a seniors title for the Lady Falcons remains unchanged despite reaching another milestone by becoming the first player from Adamson to capture the coveted individual award

“Hindi naman doon titigil yung career ko, yung career namin, and yung pagpu-push namin to get into the Finals. Nandoon pa rin talaga yung focus namin,” Nitura said.

The 21-year-old outside hitter played a major role in Adamson’s resurgence this season, helping the Lady Falcons secure a return trip to the Final Four for the first time since Season 85.

Nitura emerged as the league’s top individual performer after collecting 98.511 statistical points in the MVP race. She finished well ahead of fellow Adamson player Frances Mordi, who placed second with 82.766 SP.

For Nitura, however, the individual citation serves more as motivation for the team rather than a personal accomplishment. She believes the Lady Falcons possess enough talent and depth to challenge for a Finals berth in the seasons ahead.

“Actually, this only means na capable kami makapasok ng Finals kasi meron kaming Fhei at meron kaming other players na pwede mag-push through it sa upcoming seasons na meron kami with the team,” she said.

Adding to her MVP trophy, the former Adamson University Lady Baby Falcons standout was also named one of the league’s Best Outside Spikers. (AC)
