Former National University player Erin May Pangilinan singled out De La Salle University skipper Shevana Laput as the player to watch heading into Game 1 of the Lady Bulldogs’ best-of-three showdown against the Lady Spikers this afternoon.
In an interview on Bilyonaryo News Channels’ Unpopular Opinion, Pangilinan said Laput’s ability to take over matches makes her a major concern for NU, especially when the La Salle captain finds her rhythm on the floor.
“I think I will be watching Shevana Laput, different kasi kapag si Shevana ang gumagana talaga, is like when she found her groove, sobrang unstoppable niya,” Pangilinan said.
“It is like you are trying to figure out how to piece by piece kung papaano mo siya mapipigil, you have to really keep an eye on her talaga,” added the former Cignal Super Spikers player.
Pangilinan, who previously led NU during her collegiate career, emphasized that containing Laput will be a crucial challenge for the Lady Bulldogs as they look to gain an early edge in the series.
She noted that Laput’s offensive bursts can quickly shift momentum, forcing opponents to constantly adjust their defensive schemes.
