Alapag led his current helm San Miguel Alab Pilipinas to the championship last season.
SMB Governor Robert Non officially welcomed Alapag as the one of the newest members of the team, alongside Romeo, Paul Zamar, and Ronald Tubid.

This news came as a huge shock, considering the fact that Alapag spent most of his basketball career with TNT, Meralco, and Gilas Pilipinas.
