SMB not celebrating yet after big win vs Alaska, says Cabagnot
Alex Cabagnot exploded for the San Miguel Beermen when they battled the Alaska Aces.
But the lefty guard deflected the credit and claimed that it was their sense of urgency to bounce back that fueled the victory.
The Beermen were coming off a stinging 107-109 overtime loss to the Barangay Ginebra last Sunday, and they entered Friday’s bout with a 1-3 card.
The perennial contenders, fueled by Cabagnot’s 31 points, sealed a 119-107 victory over Alaska to get back on track in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Cabagnot was happy that the Beermen emerged victorious, but said that there is nothing to celebrate yet.
Their now set their sights on Wednesday, June 26, when they will battle rivals Magnolia Hotshots.
“We won, but we can’t get too high, can’t get too low. We started 0-2, we’re still 2-and-3. There’s nothing to… I don’t know if there’s anything to celebrate about. We have Magnolia coming up on Wednesday,” said the 36-year-old.
“So we just have to prepare, get back to the drawing board, and stay ahead of the learning curve.”
