Like most Pinoy hoops fans, Filipino-American NBA star Jordan Clarkson celebrated Kai Sotto’s NBA Summer League debut on Friday morning (Manila time).
Sotto was able to contribute six points and four rebounds during the Orlando Magic’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
He also contributed big on the defensive end, swatting three attempts from the Blazers, including one on sophomore guard Shaedon Sharpe.
Clarkson, who plays for the Utah Jazz, gave props to his Gilas Pilipinas teammate.
“Solid performance, keep grinding away!” the Fil-American posted on Twitter, despite the Magic’s loss to the Trail Blazers.
Clarkson has always supported Sotto’s NBA dreams, backing him up even after the Filipino went undrafted by the league two years ago.
The two are expected to meet up soon when they play for Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
