PLDT High Speed Hitters ended their 2026 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference elimination-round campaign on a high note, rallying past Creamline Cool Smashers, 25-17, 23-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12, on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Already eliminated from the title race, PLDT denied Creamline a place in the championship match with a come-from-behind victory that reshaped the final standings.
The High Speed Hitters had already secured a berth in the bronze medal match earlier in the day after Nxled Chameleons defeated Farm Fresh, assuring PLDT of a spot in the battle for third regardless of the result against Creamline.
The victory, however, gave PLDT the opportunity to play spoiler against the Cool Smashers, who needed the win to keep their championship hopes alive.
With the elimination round now complete, Nxled secured the last finals berth after finishing tied with Creamline and PLDT at 3-2. The Chameleons claimed the spot based on the tournament’s points system.
Creamline and PLDT will now face each other again in the third-place match, while Nxled advances to the championship showdown against EST Cola of Thailand. (Adrian Co)
