Spencer Dinwiddie still plans on joining Nets despite contracting COVID-19 virus

Tough luck for Brooklyn fans, as guard Spencer Dinwiddie was among the two players from the Nets who tested positive for coronavirus disease.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, both Dinwiddie and DeAndre Jordan contracted the COVID-19 virus and have opted-out to join the team in Orlando.

However, the 27-year old Dinwiddie has made it all clear that unlike Jordan, he will be with the Nets when the NBA season resumes on July 30.

“Just to be clear I haven’t opted out and want to play like I told @ShamsCharania. Unfortunately I have been one of the cases that has various symptom,” Dinwiddie tweeted.

Brooklyn is currently sitting at the seventh spot in the East, and will still miss the star power of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to recover from their respective injuries.
