Standhardinger powers HK Eastern to victory over Mono Vampire

With his future coach watching on the sidelines, Christian Standhardinger gave a glimpse of what he could bring in the Philippine Basketball Association six months from now.
The number one overall pick in the 2017 Rookie Draft almost singlehandedly carried Hong Kong Eastern to a 112-105 win over Mono Vampire of Thailand in the Asean Basketball League (ABL).
“You can lose your focus, you can lose your emotions, you kind of get frustrated but you kept going, you kept working hard and we came out with the victory,” Standhardinger said after the game.
The Fil-German big man exploded for 40 points, including the game clinching basket in heavy traffic with with HK just ahead by six, 106-100..
The Gilas Pilipinas sensation also added 17 rebounds, three assists and five steals in leading the Hong Kong team to its third consecutive win in as many starts in the regional basketball league.
