Steph Curry, gusto sa ibang team noon?
Stephen Curry will go down as the greatest player to play for the Golden State Warriors franchise, but he was so close on playing with this historic team.
In an interview with GQ Sports, Curry revealed that he initially wanted to join the New York Knicks when he was about to enter the 2009 NBA Draft.
The Knicks had the 8th overall pick, and he already imagined himself playing for that team.
“I absolutely was wanting to go to the Knicks,” Curry said.
“Had a lot of conversations with the GM of New York at the time who said if I was on the board, they’d picked me. So there’s a lot of hype because being in New York, I thought I was going to be a New York Knick.”
We all know what happened next, as the Warriors used their seventh pick to snatch the future two-time NBA MVP.
Ironically, it was in Madison Square Garden where Curry made history by surpassing Hall of Famer Ray Allen as the leader in three-points made.
“But they always be careful what you wish for, everything happened the way it was supposed to be, so I’m a Warrior,” Curry said.
