Students Kathy, Mika continue playing the game in med school
After such storied collegiate careers, spikers Mika Esperanza and Kathy Bersola pursued a different passion: studying medicine.
Despite the demands of the postgrad life, these two were given another chance at volley greatness, this time, in Palarong Medisina.
Started from the bottom, now we’re here, and we’re just getting started. 😉 It was an honor playing for the UP College of Medicine. Thank you, team, for letting me coach and play with you! I hope you all learned and had as much fun as I did. We’ll get ’em next year. 😼🏐✊🏻❤💚 Palarong Med Year 1 ✅ Podium finish ✅ #UPCMWVT #UPMedAces #UPFight #PalarongMed2018 #Siklab
These two ladies brought their UAAP experience in the annual tournament and put the rest of the field on notice.
Mika carried her championship winning ways from La Salle to UERM, copping back-to-back titles for the school.
Meanwhile, Kathy had her first taste of Palarong Medisina, and she didn’t disappoint. UP Manila’s volleybelles placed on the podium during the middle blocker’s rookie ‘season.’
