Tatak Pingris: Marc Pingris’ daughter crowned champion in Shakey’s GVIL

Just like her legendary father, Micaela Pingris showcased her athleticism in the 2025 Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League (SGVIL), helping her team capture the Division 2 championship.

The 13-year-old daughter of PBA legend Marc Pingris and Danica Sotto-Pingris tallied seven points in the finals and was later named Best Opposite Hitter of the tournament.

Marc proudly celebrated his daughter’s achievement in an Instagram story, while Micaela opened up about the pressure and motivation that come with her family name.

“It feels like I need to play my best because people know me. They know my dad as an athlete… my mom, who is well-known,” Micaela said after the match.

Marc and Danica made it just in time for the awarding ceremony, coming from their son Jean Michael Pingris’ graduation, where he was also recognized as a budding basketball player.

“Proud talaga ako sa kanya. Ngayon humabol kami since galing sa graduation day of my son. Sinasabi ko nga, lagi lang kami nandito na nakasuporta; hindi naman namin sila pinipilit sa sports o kung saan man. Basta kung ano ang gusto nila, support kami talaga,” said the proud father.
