The moment happened while Eala was signing merchandise for fans. As Onehandtony approached the tennis star, Onehandtony suddenly dropped to one knee and presented what appeared to be a candy ring.
Caught off guard by the gesture, Eala immediately called for her father, Mike Eala, who stepped in and stood between the two.
The fan then got back on his feet and shook Mike’s hand, turning the unexpected encounter into a lighthearted moment during the event.
Onehandtony captioned the video, “Had to shoot my shot @Nike,” as he shared the memorable interaction with Eala.
The moment quickly gave fans another glimpse of the Filipina star’s growing popularity as she continues her US Open campaign in New York. (Adrian Co)
