TENNIS fans have raised concerns over the reported difficulty in purchasing Alexandra Eala merchandise at the Nike store in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), amid claims that resellers were able to secure multiple pieces despite limited stocks.
The controversy emerged online after fans reported difficulty in purchasing the limited-edition US Open shirt featuring the Filipina tennis star, while some “pasabuy” sellers were allegedly offering the same items at significantly higher prices.
The Alex Eala T-shirt has a suggested retail price of P1,495 but has reportedly been listed by resellers in Taguig for a price between P2,500 and P3,500 apiece.
Some online posts questioned how resellers were able to obtain several shirts despite claims that purchases at the BGC store were limited to one item per customer only.
The reports prompted accusations that certain resellers may have been given preferential access to the merchandise, with some fans even alleging a possible arrangement involving store personnel.
The issue has drawn attention as demand for Eala-related merchandise continues to rise following the Filipino tennis star’s recent breakthrough on the international stage.
For fans who were unable to purchase the shirts at the suggested retail price, the reported resale markup has become a major source of frustration, with some listings asking more than twice the original price. (By the Staff)
