Terrence Jones credits teammates for winning Best import award
Terrence Jones acknowledged his TNT KaTropa teammates after he was named PBA Commissioner’s Cup Best Import.
“I just wanna thanks all my teammates, without them if wouldn’t be possible,” Jones said. “My family whom I’m doing this for also to inspire the youth over here. The coaching staff and the whole organization for giving me this opportunity and it’s a blessing.”
The former NBA player was the unanimous choice for the award garnering a total of 1254 statistical points.
Jones dethroned Justin Brownlee of the Ginebra who has 882 statistical points.
The 6’10” import believed it was the team’s total effort that put him and co-awardee Jayson Castro in their respective awards.
“We work hard as a team, to put ourselves in the position where we are the number one seed and the chemistry. To believe in one another since day one,” he said.
Jones also emphasized the importance of the award to him and to his son who has a Filipino blood.
“It brings me joy as a father, as a basketball player it brings me a lot of joy. Great be to God without Him it wouldn’t be possible. He put me in a position to be able to show my son a way to follow my footsteps and also to learn about his culture and I’m just happy to be here.”
