Thirdy, Dani defend ‘Manong’s’ missed clutch shot

Kiefer Ravena just couldn’t catch a break from his bashers.

Luckily for Manong, there is Dani and Thirdy who could defend him at any given time.

First, the Ateneo volleybelle took on Twitter to lament her disappointment to some netizens who criticized Kiefer’s failure to bury the clutch shot for Gilas Pilipinas, which resulted to a 81-84 loss against Angola.

Thirdy also came to the rescue for his older brother.

“Basketball — you win some, you lose some. Everyone misses, hindi lahat ng tira pumapasok,” the Ateneo forward told reporters.

“Just the fact that he’s the guy that tries to get the ball in an intense and crucial situation. It speaks a lot to his character and determination to win,” he added.

Nonetheless, Thirdy is glad to see the Gilas guard back in competition again.

“I’m proud that he is back. Honestly, I’m not really expecting anything big,” he quipped.

“Kasi two years kang mawawala, especially to get that exposure na sinalang ka kaagad, hindi man lang sa PBA eh. Sa [FIBA] World Stage agad.”
