Thirdy Ravena admits having hard time playing against UST

Thirdy Ravena didn’t think that UST’s defense was no match for him.

The Ateneo forward may have collected 17 points and nine rebounds in the team’s 66-52 victory on Saturday against the Growling Tigers, he was extremely disappointed on his turnovers that he committed.

“It was a good game, we won but I made eight turnovers, which is completely unacceptable, especially in the late game. I have to work on that, not very happy with the outcome but we won,” said Ravena.

Still, Ravena was an instrumental piece for the Blue Eagles in maintaining their squeaky clean record in eight games.

That does not mean that the Blue Eagles executed their game plan flawlessly.

“Yung pace nung game, we make sure na we can run with UST kasi kahit anong mangyare they’re gonna run down the floor,” he shared.

“Alam namin ‘yun skills nila sobrang bilis very conditioned into that style of play and one adjustment is not.”

Ravena admitted that he really had a hard time keeping up with UST’s pace, even though it seemed that he was almost unstoppable.

“We really had to be as fit as them. ‘Yun nga kasi kapag ganun ‘yung laro kailangan mabilis kang mag-isip hindi ‘yung mabilis lang,” he shared.

“Kasi tulad ng mga nangyare sa akin kanina, mabilis ako though pero nagkakamali ako kasi nagmamadali ako.“
